42.195km

It's finally here. The bang at 0530h @ the Padang will signal the start of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008. 8 months of hard work, training, mental endurance and carbo-loading will be put to the test over 4-5 hours. I feel that I am somehow prepared for the run, I have to be. I've laid out my running attire, taped the gels to my running belt, tried to watch what I eat a few days before the race, roughly gauged my walk-run intervals and so on...

I aim to complete the run under 5.45hrs. The support from the sidelines will be my motivation. The sight of other runners in front of me will spur me on. The thought of S waiting for me at the finish line will encourage me even more. The plan of a big feast at Seoul Garden after the marathon will make me wanna make the run a worthwhile one.

At the end of the day, I just wanna enjoy the run and the atmosphere of being just another marathoner to cross the finish line in elation, a feeling no one can ever give me but myself.
